When I was 14 years old my mother taught me how to braid my own custom horse gear. I’d spend hours studying horse tack catalogs, sketching ideas, and measuring my horses all with the intent of braiding what I could for them. One thing I learned as a maker is the value of handmade well-fitted gear and how it relates to a horse’s comfort and performance. Even though my horse’s gear was custom made for me and my horse, I felt that one important element was missing…a Mohair saddle blanket!

Being a mindful consumer sent me on a mission to create and offer a saddle blanket I could personally feel good about using. It took ten years of conceptualizing and the discovery of a unique felting process to achieve the perfect blanket thickness while maintaining Mohair’s luxuriously soft touch. Our blankets are designed to drape across the spine with no bunching under the saddle and no break-in period required.
